By the end of the weekend, Dave felt far from being a stranger, as he hugged us and congratulated us on our marriage. Needless to say, we will return to Mt Philo Inn when we are looking for a beautiful place to celebrate our anniversary!
We got married at Mt Philo State Park and had our reception outside on the lawn, and in the Ballroom once it started raining. Our wedding weekend was all about celebrating our love by spending time with the people we care about most, and it was amazing to get to have all of those people staying under the same roof. Dave was great at communicating with us when he had concerns about noise levels, which I appreciated and greatly respected.
David and Jane were extremely responsive and humorous. They have Inn-Keeping down to a science. The WEst wing worked out well to house 8 of us with more coming for festivities during the day. Kitchen very well stocked. I highly recommend Mty. Philo Inn as a place to be comfortable -- near a lot of good parts of VT as well
My husband and I rented out the entirety of Mt Philo Inn for our wedding this past weekend, and it was the perfect place for our intimate, low-key wedding. Dave is a thoughtful and kind owner, and we communicated about what our vision was for the wedding, and whether he thought the Inn would be a good place for us to be. He provided us with excellent local recommendations for catering and restaurants to try. The inn itself is beautiful and so thoughtfully renovated - it really shows in the details and quality of appliances, furniture, etc.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary in Vermont and spent one night at the Mt. Philo Inn. Dave was excellent to coordinate with for arrangements prior to our arrival, and a pleasure to meet in person. The property is in a great location, and is adorned with fun and unique artwork that fits well with the local culture. The proximity to Mt. Philo State Park could not be better for trail running and hiking. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great place to stay that is a little off the beaten path!
Our first stay at the Mt. Philo Inn was in the West Wing and it was amazing. The suite was more than we needed for 2 people but it was the only unit available. I was so happy with everything (beautiful suite, perfect location, path to mountain is out the back door, basket of breakfast food in fridge, easy parking). I won't stay anywhere else from here on out. Our second stay was in the Left Wing and it was just as wonderful. I can't say enough good things about the Inn. Dave, the Innkeeper, was available 24/7 (probably not really) but we needed him twice and he was right there both times. Both check-in and check-out are easy and laid back.
I have stayed at one or two other places in the Charlotte/Burlington area but was not happy for whatever reason.
